Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I. Send me!” He said, “Go, and tell this people: ‘Keep on listening, but do not perceive; Keep on looking, but do not understand.’ “Render the hearts of this people insensitive, Their ears dull, And their eyes dim, Otherwise they might see with their eyes, Hear with their ears, Understand with their hearts, And return and be healed. ~ Isaiah 6:8-10
The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers (those who do not obey and keep God’s Holy Commandments) so they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. ~ 2 Corinthians 4:4
Matthew 15:9 and Mark 7:13 indicate that unbelievers (we who don’t observe and obey God’s Commandments) invalidate the COMMANDS of God and do not obey them but choose instead to faithfully keep and observe man-made traditions which we have handed down from generation to generation. We as unbelievers continuously nullify God’s Commandments and LAWS and faithfully observe our own traditions and religious rituals, philosophies and laws.
I am ashamed to say it and I am vexed in my soul about it but we all are guilty of nullifying God’s Commandments and LAWS and we stand rightfully indicted under the WORD of HOLY SCRIPTURE and guilty before ALMIGHTY FATHER GOD. (Ref. Ecclesiastes 7:20 and Romans 3:10-12)
Willful Ignorance Cannot Be Our Excuse. We Are All Guilty Of The Crime Of Nullifying God’s Commandments and LAWS in favor of keeping our own traditions and festivals. Some have even exchanged God’s way for their own. (Ref. Daniel 7:25)
While nullifying and sometimes altering God’s Fourth Commandment, many religiously and consciously observe and keep the Christian tradition of “Sunday Worship.”
While nullifying God’s Eternal Moral Commandments, especially the Fourth Commandment, many religiously and faithfully observe, keep and celebrate man-made holidays and festivals such as Christmas, Easter, New Years, Valentine Day, Presidents Day, Independence Day, Labor Day and Thanksgiving.
In honor of human traditions and holidays, many stores close, markets cease doing business and governments agencies shutdown and many Christian churches hold services.
However, when it comes to observing and keeping and obeying God’s Holy and Eternal Commandments, especially the Fourth Commandment, many of us become deaf and blind.
Allow me to make this a little more personal for you.
If you ordered a hamburger but was given a stone instead, was your request honored and would you be satisfied?
If you required and requested a house to live in but was only offered a pig pen, could you accept that as an adequate response to your request and needs?
If you gave your expensive new car to a child of yours and told them to fill it up with high-octane gasoline and then take it to your mechanic who specializes in that particular kind of car but the child filled the car with kerosene instead and then allowed one of his friends to work on your new car, can you say that the child obeyed you? Would you reward that child for his disobedience and disrespect of your commands and of your property?
I don’t think so.
And in like manner, we shouldn’t expect anything form GOD while we are disobeying His Commandments and acting in opposition to His WORD.
